Privacy
We take your privacy very seriously! We never collect any information from you that we don’t need to make the service /services work for you. We will never spam your contact information or share/sell the information to anyone.
When you send and receive data with our service we never handle your data in an unencrypted state. All the encryption is done on your client and we can’t access the information. We only know who the message is going to and the encrypted payload nothing else.
GDPR
To be compliant with GDPR we only do hard deletes. We don’t just flag the information as deleted. This will prevent you from recovering deleted data but protects your privacy much better. Your personal information will be deleted if you delete your account.
If you received messages that aren’t from an anonymous source you are both the Controller and Processor of that personal information. Since we only handle the encrypted data we can’t be considered neither.
Cookies
You can opt out of our tracking cookies (Google Analytics). We use this information to gather information about our market. What country our users are from, what browser they use etc. All this information is anonymized and only used to improve our service.
You can’t opt out of our session cookies when you're logged in. Without that you would have to login with every request. It only contains a hashed identifier for your session and is destroyed when you log out. It can’t be used for tracking you on any other site.
Statistics
We do collect statistics in anonymous form that doesn’t contain any metadata and can’t be linked to a specific user. The statistics is only for the scaling of our service to be able to provide you with a better service. We track things like:
- Number of messages sent
- Number of successful decryptions
- Number of errors and the actual error message
- Message sizes
